I'm so excited to announce the NEW principal for Zundy Jr. High: Linda Young!! She's really not new to Zundy because she's been our assistant principal for 4 years, and she's great! I'm glad we (the staff) got to give our input on who we wanted, but I'm happier that "downtown" listened to us. Linda has been a wonderful asset to our school as an assistant, and I'm sure she'll even be better as a principal.

School is Finally Out
School is finally out, and I'm so glad about it! Don't get me wrong....I enjoy what I do, but I really need a break! Everyone needs a time to kick back, rest, and relax.
May is always a special month for me because of all the graduations. It's really neat to see kids in this day and time finish highschool. So many kids fall between the cracks and don't finish their education. It's sad to see this happen, and my heart goes out to them.
Friday night, after graduation, Harden and I went to Lori and John's house to help celebrate Jessica Parker and Michael's (her boyfriend) graduation. It was so much fun watching their excitement and being with friends!
Harden & I then had the priviledge to go to Rider's graduation on Saturday evening. I was thrilled to see how many kids that I've taught in the past graduate that night. We also enjoyed watching "our" church kids graduate as well. We are very happy and proud of their accomplishments!
We, then, went to the Day's Inn for Alysha's graduation reception. We had so much fun that night watching Alysha celebrate her "big" day.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of these kids as they embark on a new journey in their life.

Chad Brewster
It's with deep regret and a sad heart that knowing next year Chad Brewster will no longer be my principal. We found out today that he was offered the position as the "Old High" principal, and he accepted. I don't know...maybe I'm just being a little selfish, but Chad is the best principal I've ever had, and I sure hate to lose him! He has many talents and skills as an educator and working with people. Not everyone is cut out to be a principal, but trust me when I tell you.....Chad is! Zundy will certainly miss him, but I do wish him the very best.
You see, he's working on his PHD to become a school superintendent, and the requirements to be one is that he has to have at least 4 years as a junior high principal and 4 years as a highschool principal, so this is just a stepping stone in fulfilling his dreams. I know this is a new chapter in his life, but if anyone is able to accomplish the job, Chad can.
Please pray that God will send Zundy an incredible principal. It's pretty scary facing the unknown.

Campmeeting in Wichita Falls
I've got to say that yesterdays services were better than any campmeeting I've ever gone to!! Many souls are being baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost. It's soooo exciting to see the harvest that God is bringing in!! I've enjoyed the Cooks being here with us, and his enthusiasm for outreach is contagious!
This Sunday is Community Day, and I'm looking forward to seeing and meeting a lot of new friends.
I would also like to wish our fabulous pastor's wife, Sis. Karla, and very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many more to come!! Have a great week !

Spring Break
Spring Break has now oficially begun!! I'm soooo excited to have some time off and have some R&R. I was going to Florida to visit my mom, but I'm just too tired. The thought of rushing around and racing through an airport makes me even more tired, so I decided to stay home this year and RELAX!! For all our kids and teachers..... have a safe and relaxing spring break!

March Impact
During the month of March, Life Tabernacle will be "marching" on to big and better things for our city! We just completed a double-hitter concerning our preperation for the harvest that God is going to give us. This past week we went into a 24 hour prayer time and a technology fast. I can't say the fast was easy, but it did me good to put my flesh under subjection!! We have other types of fast before us, and as our wonderful pastor told us.... we will be a better person for it.
I'm excited to have the Cooks with us for the next several weeks, and I'm looking forward to seeing what God has in store for Wichita Falls! I know it's God's will for this city to be saved and on their way to Heaven.

TAKS Test
I sure hate to face it, but it's that time again.....the D-R-E-A-D-E-D TAKS Test! I'll be soooo glad when they do away with that silly test. My 7th graders will be taking the Writing test Tuesday, and they're a little nervous, but they're sure ready to get it over with! There are 2 portions to the test, and they have to pass both sections to pass the entire test. Please pray for these kids (and me) that they will indeed pass it. I sure would appreciate it!!!!!! Have a great weekend.

Bible Quiz Tournament # 2
We have just completed our 2nd quiz tournament this past weekend, and what a weekend we had!! This tournament took place in Longview, Texas, so we didn't have to travel quite as far as we did last month. Out of 35 quiz teams, Wichita Falls placed 7th!! I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of our kids. They're doing an incredible job, and I'm already looking forward to our next tournament in March.
I also want to add that it was soooo good to see Pastor Holley, Sis. Karla, & Cameron there to cheer us on. The kids were very EXCITED to see them, as we all were. Please continue to pray for us as we lead our children of the future to hide the word of God in their heart.

The Heart
This month has been set aside as "Know Your Heart Month". Many articles in the paper, on the radio, and even in emails that we receive tell us what to do in case of a heart attack. More important, it cautions us what to eat, how to exercise, and basically, how to take care of our heart. I've found this information to be quite interesting because I am getting older, and I need to know what to do to prevent a heart attack happening to me or Harden.
What really touched my spirit is we go to great lengths to take care of the physical heart, but what about our spiritual heart? Is it overflowing with bad attitudes, jealousy, or bitterness? God woke me up the other night with this thought, and I must admit, it sent me to my knees!!
We can't be lost! We must gird up the loins of our mind and have a pure heart before the Lord. He's coming after a bride that is SPOTLESS and clean. I couldn't go back to sleep again until I earnestly prayed, "Lord create within me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me!!"

Happy Birthday, Daddy!
I want to wish my dad a very Happy Birthday today. He's a very SPECIAL man and has been a huge encouragement in my life! He's patient, kind, and very caring. It's an honor to have him for a father, and I love him very much!!! Even though he's backslid, I still have faith that God will bring him back into the fold before it's too late. God has been dealing with him for quite sometime now, so I'm expecting a miracle. Daddy, I love you very much, and I wish you many more wonderful days in the future!!!

Bible Quizzing Results
WOW!!! What a fantastic 2 days I had at my 1st Bible Quizzing tournament! I've never experienced anything quite like it before. After traveling 9 LONG hours to get to Vidor, Texas, we found out that we would not be able to quiz the first night because we were about 9th on the list, and it would be too late by the time we had oour chance to quiz. At first I was a little disappointed, but I felt as though God had everything in control, and I soon found out that He certainly did.
The first team we played on Saturday was Hillsboro, and we narrowly lost that game but won the next 4. These games were nail-biting and so exciting! Our kids did a FANTASTIC job, and I'm very proud of them!! Out of 29 teams, Wichita Falls placed 5th place. We won a beautiful trophy, which we proudly presented to our wonderful pastor (and church).
I can't begin to tell you what this ministry means to me, and I'm beyond excited to be a coach for our Jr. team. Please keep thes kids in your prayers because they have A LOT of scriptures to memorize before our next tournament, which is in February. We, then, will be traveling to Longview, Texas to compete. Who knows.....we may even place 1st!!

Bible Quizzing
Well.....tomorrow is it! We travel to Vidor, Texas for our 1st quiz tournamnet, and I am soooo excited! The Bible Quiz team, Bro. & Sis. Isom (our fearless leaders), Judy Kurani, Jessica Bennett, Heather Gallentine, and myself have worked very hard in preparing our kiddos for the match. We have an awesome group of kids going, and they are armed and prepared with the word of God tucked away in their hearts. We have Ryan Isom and Abigail Bowen representing the beginner team and Haiden Isom, Imran Kurani, Breanna Fobbs, and Howie Bryant representing the junior team. Please pray for ALL of us that we have a safe trip and we WIN!!!

Sunday School Lessons in an English Class
This past week we've been reading an incredible novel entitled, Night. The author, Elie Wiesel, beautifully describes his encounters as a Jewish prisoner in a German concentration camp, so basically the novel is about the Holocaust, in which MANY Jewish people suffered and lost their lives needlessly!!
I was surprised to see that many of my 7th graders had never heard about the Holocaust, so it made teaching about it a lot more exciting. In several places the author referred to the passover, so I asked my kids if anyone knew what the passover was, and no one did! I quickly explained to them that it's a celebration that the Jewish people observe because of when the Israelites were free from Egyptian bondage many years ago. Yes...you guessed it. They had no clue of what I was talking about. So.......I incorporated a little Sunday School lesson and told them the old story that we're so familiar with: Moses and the Red Sea experience. They were fascinated and asked many questions.
Later on the author compared himself and the Jews to the Bible character, Job. I asked them if anyone knew the story about Job, and only 1 student knew the story. Well, since I haven't been fired yet, I told them another Bible story about Job.
It broke my heart to see many students no nothing about Jesus and His word!!! I'm very thankful that God gave me this opportunity to share with them what I've known all my life. Once again, please pray for our students and for me that I can be a witness to them!

What a Day!
Whew, am I tired!!! Today we started back to school after being off for 2 weeks, and it was soooo hard getting back in the swing of things! There's so much to do this semester, and on top of that.....I'm mentoring a new teacher! He's a very nice young man, and I think he'll make a great teacher.
I'm writing this new post now while I'm able to get my second wind because at 6:00 I have Bible quizzing, followed by prayer meeting at 7:00, and choir practice at 7:30!!! Oh well.... that's life, and it sure is fun working for the Lord!! Have a great week.
